Job summary

You're the person who takes a new customer from "we just signed" to "our team is running SmartBarrel like they invented it." You map how a contractor actually works today, then configure and train around that reality instead of forcing a generic playbook. Sales and marketing hand you the relationship - you're the one who makes it stick.

This isn't a support role and it isn't a sales role. It's a hands-on rollout role: you build the plan, run the training, and don't stop until the client is 100% ramped on the timeline you set. If you'd rather fix a client's workflow than write a ticket about it, and you actually understand what "union job site" means for time tracking, this is your job.

Key responsibilities

  • Own new customer implementation: map the customer's existing process, then configure and roll out SmartBarrel to match it — their workflow, not a generic template.
  • Build the segment-based rollout plan: structure implementation timelines by customer segment so every client has a clear path and a clear finish line.
  • Ramp clients to 100%, on your timeline: no long tails — if the plan says 30 days, the client is live and self-sufficient in 30 days.
  • Run live and recorded training: conduct online training sessions and grow a library of self-serve training videos customers can use without you.
  • Turn customers into SmartBarrel experts: roll-out planning, relationship management, and support until they don't need you anymore.
  • Support Account Management on expansion training: partner with AMs when existing clients grow, add projects, or need new training.
  • Build client-specific SOPs: document how each client uses SmartBarrel so their team has a clean internal reference, not a game of telephone.
  • Cut implementation time: build frameworks, self-serve tools, and recordings that shrink the gap between kickoff and go-live for every future client.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in customer success, implementation, or onboarding, ideally in construction or contech
  • Real experience with construction time tracking, especially in union environments — you know why rounding rules and certified payroll actually matter to a foreman
  • Comfortable running a training session solo, virtual or in person, from agenda to Q&A
  • Direct, clear communicator — you can translate a setup step into instructions a field crew will actually follow
  • Self-directed: you run your book of implementations independently and know when to loop the team in
  • Strong problem-solver — you dig into a client's actual workflow before proposing a fix
  • Nice to have: bilingual English/Spanish; HubSpot experience; SaaS or technology company background
